April 14-18

This week, we continued our wonderful journey through Lent by focusing on the events of Holy Week. We read many stories about the important moments of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Our flip books, which show the events of Holy Week, are now complete! We also enjoyed listening to the story of the Legend of the Easter Egg. It was fascinating to learn that Easter eggs resemble the stone in front of Jesus’s tomb. These eggs are a beautiful symbol of new life. Just like a chick breaks out of its egg, Jesus rose from the tomb! To celebrate this special meaning, we created our own Easter eggs using crayons and watercolor paints. When you open them, it looks like Jesus is rising from the tomb, which is so cool! Additionally, we made cheerful yellow chick Easter baskets. We were thrilled to discover our baskets filled on Thursday morning!  To wrap up our week, we took an exciting field trip to the movie theater to see "King of Kings."
